Contracts
When you purchase a book from greenbirds.co.uk, you enter into a contract with greenbirds. When you place an order to purchase a book from greenbirds.co.uk, we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt and details of your order. Your order signals an offer to us that you wish to purchase a book from us. This offer is accepted by us when we send you e-mail confirmation that we’ve dispatched the book(s) to you (the “Order Confirmation Email”). That acceptance is completed at the time that we send the Order Confirmation E-mail to you.
Customers in the European Union are entitled to a statutory cooling-off period of 7 working days. In accordance to your right to cancel the contract for online purchases of books purchased through this website, please contact us within 7 days of receipt of the book(s).
You will need to quote the invoice number and date as stated on the delivery notice that will accompany book(s) purchased from us. Please ensure that you mark clearly the words ‘Contract Cancellation’ on the correspondence. Book(s) must be packaged securely to avoid damage in transit and sent back to us within 30 days. We would advise that you use the recorded delivery posting service.
Please be aware that the cost for returning the goods to us will be at your expense unless of course goods were delivered to you in error or if the goods were damaged. Please note that in all cases, we can only issue you with a full refund provided that the books are returned with the shrink wrap intact.
Our returns policy explains in greater detail our conditions.
Please retain your original delivery notice. Where the original delivery notice is unavailable, we may arrange for collection of goods, from your residence or nominated address, at cost to you. Once this delivery process begins, you will be liable for the costs and will not be able to cancel this.
Upon receipt of your Contract Cancellation notice, the relevant part of the purchase price for the items shall be refunded within 30 days. This will not affect your statutory rights.
Events beyond our reasonable control
We will not be held responsible for any delay or failure to comply with our obligations under these conditions if the delay or failure arises from any cause which is beyond our reasonable control. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.
Governing law/Courts of Jurisdiction
Contracts formed between greenbirds and users as a result of using this site shall be governed in all respects by English law and all such users hereby submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Waiver
In the instance that our terms and conditions are breached and we take no action, we are still entitled to use our rights and remedies in any other situation(s) where you breach our terms and conditions.
Validity
greenbirds reserves the right to make changes to its website, policies and these Terms & Conditions at any time. The terms and conditions stipulated above are those currently applicable. Last updated November 2008.
